Church Re-Opening
5-31-2020

- Fr. Gregory Edwards Ph.D - Dean -

Christ is risen! Χριστός Ανέστη!

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Cathedral this Sunday! We’ve missed you! Things, however, will be a little different. Please watch the video of the safety procedures that we’ve implemented based on our bishop's directives for re-opening. We’ve worked with our own local infectious disease specialist, Dr. Peter Pappas, to follow all civil and ecclesiastical regulations, and we feel confident about our preparation for Sunday.

That being said, nothing is risk-free, and we strongly encourage those at-risk to continue to stay home and participate with us through our excellent Livestream system. There is no sin in this. If you are uncomfortable returning to in-person worship at this point, we encourage you to continue participating online.

We will celebrate two Liturgies this Sunday: 9:00-10:30 AM and 11:00-12:30 PM. For those who are returning, please sign up here.  (Note: that was the link for 5/31, and it is expired now. Look under Upcoming Events for current link.) We ask that you be on time or EARLY for the service. At 9:15 (first Liturgy) or 11:15 (second Liturgy), we will no longer be able to hold your reservation. Once we reach a safe capacity in the Cathedral, we will seat parishioners in the Banquet Hall with Livestream.  If you need to cancel your reservation, please let us know by Friday at noon. You may also call Denise at 205-716-3080 to make a reservation.

Finally, brothers and sisters, we lovingly remind you to bring your own mask and wear it consistently. I thank you in advance for complying with the bishop''s regulations, so that he can continue to allow us to offer the Divine Services in-person.

May God bless and keep you and your families!

Yours in the risen Christ,

+Fr. Gregory with all the Clergy and the Parish Council
