This Sunday, the Sunday following Pentecost, is the Sunday of All Saints. In his sermon, Fr. Micah reflects on what it means to be a saint, to be holy. He emphasizes that Christ shares his holiness with us, and his life is the life of the saints. The saints, like Christ, exhibit humility, overcome the evil one, have compassion for all, pray without ceasing, and are often obedient unto death. Though they have fallen asleep, they live because Christ lives. The life of the saint is the life of Christ.
But how do we strive for this holiness? We first realize that we can do nothing alone. Next, we can continuously, consistently reflect on the life of Christ and the lives of the saints. This leads to desire, and that desire leads to action — living the very life of Christ.
