Youth Teaching Liturgy
June 20th, 2020
Hope & Joy (Pre K- 6th Grade)
We have not been able to have Sunday School or Retreats, we are all tired of Zoom, but we ARE able to celebrate the Divine Liturgy together. We encouraged families to come on Saturday, June 20th to celebrate a Family Teaching Divine Liturgy. Father Micah stopped, and explained, with the help of our young parishioners, how the Divine Liturgy is like a Journey, and we had a children's sermon (usually we parents learn something, too! I know that I enjoyed it.) Fr Gregory reminded us at the end that our journey is now out to the world to share what we've learned.
We are planning more opportunities this summer to focus on our Youth during the Liturgies. Please plan to join us as we celebrate the Divine Liturgy and explore the Beauty of our Journey towards the Kingdom of God! Parents are welcome!

Fr Micah explains that the Divine Liturgy is a journey, an adventure.
Our journey is to a banquet. We find directions in the Bible to know how to direct our lives.
Do you enjoy a good adventure story? There's usually a bad guy, to hurt you, to keep you from getting to your destination.
To prepare for the journey, we must dress right, and clean ourselves. We must know where we are going and get directions.
We must have a leader, we should invite Christ to be part of our journey. To prepare for the Divine Liturgy, dress appropriately, clean up (inside and out)
Sometimes it's hard to get to church, or easy to be distracted from our journey.
Now that the journey is over, what do you do? You're excited to tell your friends, to share your photos. Don't get bored, remember that God is with us! We can touch and taste Him. We can tell our friends and show them with our lives that we have this amazing experience.
Christ, watching over us. He is with us in our journey, and He is the end of the journey.
